Panorama Photo From Addie Joss Day This photo shows Joe standing next to the great Cy Young (Joe is the 11th man from the left) in this panorama photo from the Addie Joss Benefit Game which was held on July 24, 1911. It was a benefit All Star type game to benefit the family of Addie Joss (former pitcher for Cleveland who died at the age of 31 from menengitis in April of 1911). Ty Cobb is in this photo (third player from the right, wearing a Cleveland uniform, Cobb's Tigers uniform was lost on the trip down to Cleveland....so he had to wear a Cleveland uniform). Tris Speaker is here, as is Eddie Collins, Frank "Home Run" Baker, Nap Lajoie, Walter Johnson, Sam Crawford...and even ole Hal Chase is present. This photo was taken down the right field line at League Park in Cleveland. Jack Graney appears twice in this photo. Due to the way this photo was taken (left to right), Graney (third man on the left) jumped out of line once that portion of the photo was taken, ran behind the photographer and jumped back in line on the end of the right side of the photo. Ole Jack pulled a fast one....so to speak!!! Ball from that game.

Katie usually signed all of Joe's autograph requests, although there are more than a 2 dozen known authentic Joe Jackson autographs known to exist, most were signed by Katie.

This photo was taken in 1914 during Spring Training in Athens, GA and the monument in this picture is still standing at the corner of College Avenue and Broad Street. The black man in the middle is actually holding one of Joe's bats...... The story goes that Joe and one of his teammates had been hitting fly balls to this man and a group of his friends during the entire practice session on the day this photo was taken. Take another look at the monument as it stands today.....and look real hard.......you can almost see Joe and the others standing by it to this day..........gives us chills!!! Joe sliding into third This photo was taken at League Park in Cleveland on April 23, 1913. Joe Jackson has just hit a triple and is sliding into third base. Third baseman Jimmy Austin of the St. Louis Browns tries to apply the tag but to no avail, umpire George Hildebrand calls Joe safe. Cleveland went on to beat St. Louis 6 to 2.

Joe shows his batting stance One of our visitors to the Virtual Hall of Fame found this picture, along with the one below in his grandfathers photo album. They appear to have been taken by his grandfather who lived in Cleveland at the time. We have over 500 photos of Joe and we have never seen these two of him. This is probably the first time they have ever been seen outside the photo album.
Joe from the same photo album This picture shows Joe in right field at old League Park in Cleveland. Joe once hit a home run over that very high fence in right field and was one of only a few to ever do so. Some of League Park still remains today in Cleveland.....the foul poles are still intact, part of the right field bleachers are still present, part of the dugout on the first base side is still present, some of the original poles used in the grandstand are still present and the ticket house is still standing and is currently used as a recreation center. If the scoreboard and fence where not there.....you would be able to see Joe's house in the background......as he only lived a block from League Park down Lexington Ave.

Joe, Ty and Nap A great photo of three .400 hitters....Joe Jackson, Ty Cobb and Larry "Nap" Lajoie. Jackson hit .408 in 1911, Lajoie hit .422 in 1901 and Cobb hit over .400 three times .420 in 1911, .410 in 1912 and .401 in 1922.
League Park, Clevland, Ohio This is a shot of League Park after Joe's playing days, but it looks almost as it did when Joe played there. The staduim was torn down in the 1940's and is now a community park. The little house in the bottom lefthand corner was the ticket office when Joe played there and it still remains today. Part of the right field stands still exists today as well as part of the Indians dugout.
